On a rainy week I logged 60 brews across three presses, measuring TDS and temperature drop every minute. The 'prettiest' pot couldn't repeat a sweet cup twice; the scuffed workhorse did. That's when I started prioritizing serviceable parts and stable thermal mass over design flourishes and wrote the rubric I still use.
